For a spellbinding layer of history and culture to add to your company’s next Waterfall fishing trip: Master storyteller and Tlingit tribal member Joe Williams captivates select groups overnighting in Ketchikan, sharing local lore and traditions at potlatch-inspired cocktail receptions. The former Ketchikan mayor (also a commercial and sustenance fisherman) sings a chief’s welcome song and gives a spirited talk on Tlingit history, clans, art, and regalia.

Hosted by the Cape Fox Lodge, this private event also showcases an extravaganza of regional delicacies, including fresh Alaska seafood (oysters, king crab, spot prawns, fried halibut nuggets), steak and scallop kebabs, reindeer sausages, caribou bites, local microbrews, Port Chilkoot distillery whiskies, and homemade cakes, pies, and chocolates.

And if you’re game for more, you can also join Williams for Walk With an Eagle, his popular 90-minute walking tour of Ketchikan’s waterfront, totem poles, and other landmarks.
